Services for Organisations

If your organisation already involves volunteers, or if you are planning to involve volunteers in the future, then Volunteering Wirral can offer you a wide range of advice, support and information to help you and your organisation to involve volunteers in a manner that is effective, positive and sustainable within your organisation.

Help with recruitment:

We hold a database of more than 1100 volunteering opportunities in Wirral and the surrounding areas. Through face-to-face interviews and website enquiries thousands of volunteers and prospective volunteers access the opportunities on this database. The software powering the database has bespoke search functions that allows volunteers to search by geographical area, volunteering type, time commitment, and skills and activities involved. By registering all of your volunteering opportunities on this website, you are automatically increasing the number of people who become aware of your opportunities and your organisation.

Good Practice Support:

We understand volunteers and we make it our business to keep up to date with all the latest changes that can affect volunteering both locally and nationally. Our experienced team can help you to develop policies, procedures and paperwork that will allow you to manage volunteers effectively, and we can also help you to overcome some of the barriers that you might encounter in involving volunteers. Our aim is to help you to reach the highest levels of good practice in volunteering. We can provide information and support over the phone, by email, through downloads from our website and in face-to-face visits.

Volunteer Organisers’ Forum:

Our quarterly Volunteer Organisers’ Forum meetings allow people who have some responsibility for volunteers and volunteering to meet with colleagues from other organisations across Wirral. We provide an opportunity to exchange information, ideas and partnership opportunities as well as offering high quality information sessions delivered by experts in their field. For details of the next Volunteer Organisers’ Forum please contact your local office.

Recognition for Your Volunteers:

One of the most important parts of looking after your volunteers properly is publicly recognising the value that they bring to your organisation. We offer access to a range of volunteer recognition schemes, each of which culminates in a high profile celebration event. Our award schemes cater for volunteers that are new to your organisation (100 Hours Award), volunteers that have been involved for longer periods of time (Long Service Awards), and outstanding volunteers (Volunteer of the Year Award). We can also help you to access national awards for your younger volunteers (16-25) through our partnership with the Wirral vinvolved team.

Information Bulletins:

We regularly receive interesting information from partner organisations, national bodies, local groups and public sector organisations, much of which is of potential interest to organisations involving volunteers. By joining our mailing list you will automatically receive this information on a regular basis, allowing you to keep up to date with policy changes, local events and information from a broad range of sources.

All of our services are funded by the Big Lottery Fund and, because of this, they come to you free of charge. If you would like to find out more then please contact your local office and speak to one of our team members.
